Rumpus drug series#
The ENOUGH series will open a reading period for submissions from January 1 through January 15. Our reading periods for Essays are January 1 through February 28, June 1 through July 31, and September 1 through October 31.

Our Rumpus Original Poetry reading periods are January 15 through January 31 and July 15 through July 31. Our Rumpus Original Fiction reading periods are February 1 through February 28 and August 1 through August 31. The Rumpus has an exceptional and diverse editorial team bypassing Submittable results in fewer readers and editors looking at your work. Agents and publicists: we strongly prefer that writers submit their own work to us. an upcoming holiday or anniversary) we are not considering essays about the pandemic through inbox. Please allow 8 months before sending status queries for fiction, poetry, and our Funny Women column. Please allow 3 months before sending status queries for essays, book reviews, and ENOUGH. Response time can vary from a few days to a few months. Please only send one submission to a given section at a time when we've responded with a decision, you are welcome to submit to that section again. All work must be previously unpublished, which includes personal blogs and social media. Please do not submit the same piece to multiple categories at the same time. To allow our volunteer editorial staff better handle the workload and respond to your work in a more timely fashion, we've instituted reading periods for certain sections of The Rumpus.


We are often overwhelmed by the breadth and quality of our submissions. We know that this amount is not enough, and we are always working toward being able to pay a standard industry rate to all feature contributors and book reviewers. All eligible contributors are able to opt in for payment at the end of the month, and the money is divided between those writers who opt in. If you do not see a category, please reference the below reading periods for information on when you can submit.īeginning May 2016, we began to pay feature writers and book reviewers. Submittable only displays categories that are open for submission.
